The Big Moment Of Surprise

This is when my parents came home from the movies, through the door, and huge surprise waiting. She was pretty overwhelmed. It was a huge success.

SURPRISE!!!!!!!

GRANDMA LUTZ TURNS 60!!!! My sisters and I threw Mom a surprise party. My Dad took her to the movies. Lots of people came and she was soooo surprised! We had a burrito bar for dinner and it turned out yummy. (well I didn't eat much, that diet thing). [much more photos on Facebook]

We had it at my mom's house because they have a HUGE kitchen and dinning room.

It's All Cute At 14 Months

Clover is now 14 months old!!! She says tons of stuff and is just a high energy girl. She is VERY strong willed and demanding. NO means YES to her. If she does not get what she wants, she will yell at the top of her lungs. If she gets angry she pulls what we call "THE HULK". She will clutch her fists and grit her teeth and shake herself! Yes, we have a VERY spirited girl on our hands. She is very much a momma's girl still. She calls Connor "Bubba" (for Brother). Her favorite shows are Wonder Pets, Mickey Mouse, Ni-ho Kilan. Her new thing this week is climbing up and into her own high chair (which I don't let her do).
Clover is the joy of my life. I just love her so much.

Nothing to be Proud About

My babies have always loved TV. All of them have watched TV since they were infants. It's nothing I am proud about, but just a fact. When Connor was age 2, his favorite movie was Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings! Really I am not kidding. His favorite thing to do was lay down on the sofa with me and discuss movies (at age 2). Clover wakes up every morning at 4:45 am. I am not about to get up and play at that time of the morning. I put her in bed with me with her sippy cup and I turn on the cartoons. She will watch her shows for 1 hr. Then I put her back to bed for another hour. This is her schedule every single morning.

One Of My Favorite Things

One of my favorite things is sweet potato fries. I love it when Mason comes home with a box of sweet potatoes from Costco. I will eat the whole box. It is such a plus that they are so healthy for me too.

Yes, today I finished my box.
I cut them into fries I use Pam or Olive Oil and sprinkle with kosher salt or sometimes with garlic and cayane pepper (for a spicey fry). The kids love them too. They are baked fries and oh so yummy.

It's Uncle Ian- the favorite uncle

Well Mason's brother Ian came out to visit us here in UT. He has always been the favorite uncle for as long as we have had kids. Ian wants to attend BYU so he spent some days on BYU campus. He met with professors, interviewed for a job, went to church at the student wards. Then we took him snowboarding several times. He had a blast. We also let him try some of our local cuisine (5 Guys Burger and Fries, Cafe Rio, Chicken and Waffles). Just hanging out on a lazy Sunday evening in front of the TV.

Clover did get used to him. So now we are waiting to hear if all goes well with the whole BYU thing.

Much Needed Change

I got to the point where I just couldn't stand looking at my ugly mint green wall one day more. I loved the mint green when we put it up 6 yrs ago, but I hate it now. I choose a light olive green to replace all the mint green (which is in the hall, dinning room, and kitchen. I love the new color. This picture here turned out way more yellow than it is.
Hall prep

This is more true to the color in this picture.

In this picture it looks grey!!! Not grey...

This was really scary up there in the vault.

When I got down I was COVERED with dust. I guess that is just not a place most people think to clean. So when all was done, it felt great for the change. It felt clean and fresh, just a great way to start the new year.

Ring In The New Year!

Happy 2010 everyone. 2009 was a good year. The only bad thing I can think of for 2009 was that with the recession my daycare is way down. I only have 1 full timer and 1 part timer. I just can seem to get my slots filled. But I do love the light load.
I love to write down my goals for each year. I seem to do pretty good with reaching most of them. Here are a few I would like to work on for 2010.

*Lose weight
*put my husband first (be a better wife)...every woman should have that as her goal.
*be more organized with meals
*read more
*try to be more calm w/ my kids
*paint my kitchen
*new carpet
*fast more
*exercise regular
* do my visiting teaching
